Predavanje bo v okviru mednarodnega seminarja Razumevanje Vzhodne Azije skozi soseske / Understanding East Asia through Neighbourhoods potekalo v petek, 23. 1. 2026, od 9.20 do 10.30 v Univerzitetni sobi Centra Rog v Ljubljani.
Povzetek predavanja v angleščini:
Focussing on neighbourhoods, our paper studies two Korean neighbourhoods at home (Sungmisan in Seoul) and abroad (My Dinh in Hanoi). The paper will examine the orientations of Koreans who stay in the two neighbourhoods, the local neighbourhood processes at work, the amenities which have been created, and the impacts of these amenities on the neighbourhood and the city. The Sungmisan neighbourhood developed strong identity and collective projects and in My Dinh, this Korean enclave encourage cultural consumption of things Korean. As fertile contrasting case studies, these neighbourhoods show that they can remake the city even as they themselves change.
