Ethnological Museology

Course is introduction in general museology and it is based on programme for museum based education programme and »museum studies« educational programmes (Icom Basic Syllabus 1999) with basical museum knowledge, learning and skill. Introduction in museology with history of museums and museums like institutions; ethnological and anthropological museums and museum collections; Slovenian achievements and museum's missions. Museum organizations, their functions and museum's management. Museum spaces, museum arrangements and museum equipment. Museum objects and museum collections, documentations, collections research; scientific activity in museums (ethnology and anthropology in museums); museum collections management. Contemporary activities in museums: exhibitions, marketing, public relations, museum professionalism and museum ethic; museum legislation, cultural and education activity of museums.
