Basic linguistic concepts and English grammatical linguistic terminology. Hierarchy of linguistic units.
Sentence, clause, phrase, word, morpheme.
Parts of speech (word classes).
Detailed analysis of individual parts of speech (noun, pronoun, adjective, adverb and preposition) and related grammatical categories.
Role of individual parts of speech in phrase formation.
English-specific morphological phenomena and processes, which are a source of difficulties for Slovene learners of English due to the differences in the linguistic systems of English and Slovene.
