The course focuses on the most pertinent socio-political and economic topics in contemporary China, among them demographic issues, urbanisation, social inequality, ecological problems and their solutions, corruption and the rule of law, media, the PRC's position in international institutions and regional associations, Chinese investments abroad. Examination of the topics includes the analysis of primary sources in Chinese.
