The study is aimed at the systematic treatment of the history of musical theatre (opera, musical drama, stage music, instrumental theatre) in connection with the possibilities that such treatment may have in music education. Students will learn about:
• individual creators,
• outstanding works,
• genres,
• musical forms,
• time sections / schools,
• geographical areas,
• musical reproduction and reception of musical works,
• historical development,
• dramaturgical issues related to the typicality of musical theatrical works in individual historical periods.
In each of the topics discussed, elements will be highlighted that make sense to use in music education and may touch on the musical structures, material, form, content or general themes of the individual work.
Themes and individual tasks change with each implementation of the course.
